Get to know the vibrant Sámi culture during an atmospheric visit to our traditional lavvu at Lyngenfjord Hotel. Here, you’ll experience stories and joik performed by Sámi dressed in traditional gákti – an authentic taste of Sámi heritage.
Warm up by the fire with freshly brewed campfire coffee and enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks while you learn more about Sámi history, culture, and traditions.
Just outside the lavvu, you’ll meet our friendly reindeer. Step into the enclosure, pet them, feed them – and feel free to take unforgettable selfies with them!
After your visit with the reindeer, you’ll be invited into the hotel to enjoy a delicious and authentic Norwegian lunch in our Sámi restaurant.
When the activities are finished, you’ll have about two hours of free time. Relax in our cozy lounge and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before returning to Tromsø. You can also explore the local area—feel free to ask us for recommendations.

Transport
Departure: 09:00 from Tromsø Bus Terminal, Prostneset. Meeting time 08:45.
Look for the red Arctic Route bus marked with the “Arctic Route” logo (route toward Storslett).
Arrival: Skibotn Hotel at approx. 10:50.
Return: From Lyngenfjord Hotel in Skibotn at 15:35, arriving back in Tromsø at approx. 17:35.
Round-trip transport with Arctic Route is included in the price, and the journey takes you through stunning Northern Norwegian scenery.
